Nani & Amala Paul in Janda Pai Kapiraju

Nani and Amala Paul will play the lead pair in Janda Pai Kapiraju to be directed by Samuthirakani. The director is planning this film as a bilingual and in the Tamil version, he has roped in Jayam Ravi to play the hero. Amala Paul will be the heroine both the versions. 

Samuthirakani is not new to the Telugu film industry as his earlier films Sambo Siva Sambo and Sangharshana has done good business in Tollywood. GV Prakash has been signed up to set the tunes for the songs in this film. The shooting of Janda Pai Kapiraju  will go on floors from the 1st of August.

Rajamouli True Succeessor of Dasari

Darshakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao is considered to be one of the legendary directors of tollywood. He is mostly known for his small budget movies, as many of them turned out to be big hits at the box office. Salman Khan was thrilled with a lot of sequences in the Telugu and Tamil remake that were very original and distinct from Dabangg. “Bhai was of the opinion that the character of Gabbar Singh played by Pawan Kalyan had a lot of scenes which could be incorporated in the Dabangg sequel and there was no harm in plucking out the scenes from the remake in Telugu and using it in our sequel as they were very much in conjunction with the character of Chulbul Pandey,” said a source. So, Makhi alias Arbaaz Khan, who produced Dabangg, did not waste any time and bought the rights.
Hudd, Hudd Dabangg! But Gabbar Singh producer Ganesh vehemently denies being approached by Salman Khan’s team. “No one approached us for any scene or rights of our film Gabbar Singh. I was told that Salman expressed to his friends that our version has more entertaining scenes but no one from his family asked for any rights. Rumours about them incorporating scenes in Dabangg 2 are just baseless,” he said.

Allari Naresh’s Action has completed 50% shoot

Hero Allari Naresh’s forthcoming 3D film ‘Action’ has completed the 50% of the shooting and actress Sneha Ullal is going to join in the film’s shoot from tomorrow onwards. This news has been informed by the film director Anil Sunkara in a press meet held today at FNCC in Hyderabad. Neelam Upadhyay is playing the second female lead role in the film.

Anil Sunkara has earlier produced several hit films and he is making his debut as an director with this film, apart from directing he is also producing the film under AK Entertainments banner.

Actors Kick Shyam, Vaibhav and Raju Sundaram are the other male leads in the film.Bappa Lahari, son of Bappi Lahari, is composing the music for this film while SS Thaman is providing the background music.

Review About Great Rajamouli's Eega Movie

Branded mainstream mediocrity.

The star director who prides himself on revealing the story beforehand might be better off not doing it. Unlike any quality cinema where ‘what drives the film’ is just the beginning of screenplays filled with detailing on every front, it’s the end for an SS film.

The film takes place in the usual detail deficient sets of SS (he doesn’t give a damn about basic continuity too) amongst characters with one line of detailing.

Sudeep playing Sudeep is multi-millionaire (conversations talk of nothing less than say 500 crores) and a womaniser. He’s got all the trademark womanising skills from our 90s films. Nani playing Nani is the good hearted neighbourhood boy who loves the micro artist Bindhu (Samantha). Sudeep can’t wait to get it on with Bindhu and gets rid of Nani in the process. AND…in comes the stroke of screenwriting brilliance…Nani is reborn as a housefly, for revenge, no SS films without revenge right, and with a housefly taking revenge you can get all inventive…it was horrible.

Over the top

Okay, we realise it’s just cinema and a Telugu film on top of that, the whole housefly-cute girl romance is….ahhhhhhhhh…okay we buy it, but, what about the sets, the score or any other such niceties we are losing one by one.

The loud and rusty score reminds one of bad films from the 90s and of the two human performances, Sudeep is pushed to look stupid and fierce, Samantha’s part was the usual cute and worried at times. Nani’s screen time was the only cheer.

Verdict

For all those who don’t mind constantly bugging CGI attached to writing with one or two cheap thrills, this is just for you.

BCCI to nominate Dravid for Khel Ratna, Yuvraj for Arjuna Award

The Cricket Board has decided to recommend recently retired stalwart Rahul Dravid for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and Yuvraj Singh, the playerof the World Cup, for the Arjuna Award.

"We will be forwarding the names of Rahul Dravid for Khel Ratna Award and Yuvraj Singh for the Arjuna Award next week (to the government)," BCCI’s CAO Prof Ratnakar Shetty told on Saturday.

The Government had recently extended the deadline for the nominations till July 20.

The 39-year-old Dravid retired from all forms of the game at the international level following the Test series in Australia last year after having accumulated over 23,000 runs in Tests and ODIs combined since making a spectacular debut at Lord’s in 1996.

If awarded the highest sports award in the country that was instituted in 1991-92, former India captain Dravid would follow the footsteps of his illustrious ex-teammates Sachin Tendulkar (1997-98) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (2007-08) as the third cricketer to win the coveted award.

So far 20 sportspersons have been bestowed the award.

Yuvraj, who has started practising at the nets at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore after his battle with a rare form of germ cell cancer between his lungs, was India’s hero in the 2011 World Cup triumph.(PTI)
